Pfizer COVID Bivalent Booster will be available at the Hardy County Health Department starting Friday September, 26 2022 by appointment. Moderna Bivalent Booster is available; they have a limited supply and it will be by appointment also. You must be 18 years and older and 2

Morrissey Representative
Richard Dennis, a consumer outreach and compliance specialist for the W.Va. Attorney General, will host a mobile office at the Senior Center/Commission on Aging Oct. 5, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Contact Dennis at 304-539-6999 for information on any additional requirements.

Breast Cancer Screening
Bonnie’s Bus will be at 411 Spring Ave., Moorefield (Hardy County Health and Wellness Center) Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 304-538-7380. Doctor’s order required. Accepts Medicare, Medicaid, WVBCCSP and all private insurance. Funds available for uninsured W.Va. women 40 and older.

Lung Cancer Screening
Hardy County Health and Wellness Center will host WVUCI Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Unit Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 304-538-7380 to schedule appointment. Eligibility: 50-80 years old; Currently smoke or have quit.

Job Fair
A Community Job Fair will be held at Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Moorefield on Friday, Oct. 7. Morning session is 9 to 11 a.m. and afternoon session is 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Approximately 30 employers will participate; job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes. Beekeepers Meet
The Potomac Highlands Beekeepers Association (PHBA) will meet Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. For this final club meeting of the year (we meet next Feb. 2023), we’ll be at the Italian Touch Restaurant, 450 East Main Street, on the patio if weather is good, otherwise indoors. We’re looking for a permanent place to meet. All meetings are open to the public and no prior experience in beekeeping is required. If you are interested in learning about beekeeping, are a beginner or are an experienced beekeeper, this is a forum where you will be able to learn and exchange beekeeping information. Seeking Trunkers
Deadline to reserve parking for Eastern’s Trunk-or-Treat is Oct. 24. The event itself is Oct. 31 from 5-6:30 p.m. at 316 Eastern Drive. 300-500 children. Rain or shine.

Wardensville Senior Lunch
All Seniors are invited to lunch on Fridays at noon in the United Methodist Church basement on Main Street in Wardensville.

Flu and COVID Shots

Food Pantry
The Moorefield Church of God Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 212 S. Elm St. in Moorefield. They provide commodities in accordance with federal USDA policy.

Dead Animals
The West Virginia Division of Highways has a policy regarding the pickup and disposal of dead animals. The DOH will only pick up carcasses on state owned highways and will not go on private property. To report a dead animal on a state owned road, please notify your local district DOH office at 304-434-2525.

Drug Take Back
The Moorefield Police Department maintains a permanent collection site for unwanted or expired prescription medication, located within the Police Department. It is located at 206 Winchester Ave. and is available to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.

The American Legion wants to make sure they honor each Veteran who is buried in Hardy County with a flag on their grave for Memorial Day. Heritage Tiles Available
The 2021 Heritage Weekend Tile House tiles are now available for purchase at the Hardy County Public Library. The tiles are $15 each, with all proceeds benefiting the ongoing efforts of the Hardy County Tour & Craft Association.
